MUSIC; Sour Mash presents Uplifting Beats & Delicious Eats

Come down to Sour Mash at The Black Cherry and enjoy some delicious food whilst listening to a live Liquid Soul Funk performance from TomEB. Also providing your soundtrack for the night is Dj Higher Power blending some uplifting liquid and jungle music.

Free entry with food preordered online (preferred to guarantee availability) or upon arrival on the night.

A multi-talented instrumentalist bringing a collection of soulful breaks, jazzy melodies and ethereal soundscapes to form together a sound, coined by the phrase “Liquid Soul Music”

Having previously worked as a session musician in the Hip-Hop world, being spotted by various music and magazines, having the chance to work with members of the 4 Owls. TomEB now takes it all into his own hands with original compositions to be performed live.

Working alongside labels such as Balearic Breaks, has allowed the Dorset based musician to explore Ibiza club culture, perform live on the island at the former site of Enigma (now Monkey) alongside Jungle Legend - Darren Jay, which included in the night a Piano+DJ set from both TomEB and Darren, for which all piano parts were improvised. TomEB continues to write music with Balearic Breaks and producer Alex Herbert aka Jazzy, an EP would be due for release in early 2023.

TomEB has already received notable support from the likes of Friction, Degs, Tony Colman (Hospital Records Bossman), Skuff, DrMeaker, The Jungle Drummer, Ray Keith, Rebel Music, Atlantic Connection, Formation Records and even U.S. based group, The Free Nationals.

Tonight’s performance will be a Solo performance utilising Ableton Live. Full Band shows are to be expected in 2023 featuring Arron Bennett (HighOctaneDrummer), Jake Waters, MC Hustle and many more….

HIGHER POWER

DJ, producer,mc and promoter. Founder of Ascension Worldwide. Born and raised in London and Essex where he was involved with the radio scene from the age of 16, going on to organise and play at events across the south east and South coast.

He established himself by playing regularly on stations such as Jam hot fm, Y2K Essex, Renegade fm and Real fm to name but a few. He was also involved in setting up and running Rockwilder fm in North London.

20 years later and Higher power has 're ignited his passion and crusade for the music scene and events industry by 

Starting a series of events under the Name Ascension which promotes local djs, mcs and artists across the south coast and surrounding areas. 

He also works with and represents box fulla records playing at various events across the south and is heavily involved with the resurgence of the junglist movement playing a vast array of authentic and modern jungle.

Higher Power is known for his experimental music productions, versatility and eclectic styles, especially when playing live! He is comfortable taking risks, keeping the crowd guessing and challenging their perceptions of music and life.

Playing anything from reggae, hip hop, broken beat house, garage, grime, dubstep, footwork and a full spectrum of jungle and Dnb aswell as unclassified genres. This Dj enjoys combining various styles and taking you on a journey through sound.
