Enthusiastic participants should not be deterred from participating for any reason, including physical &/or financial. The Content: Participants will rehearse a play from the National Theatre 2023 list of new plays aimed at younger audiences. The plays are edgy, different and contemporary, challenging and powerful. The play will rehearse at The Black Cherry, then performed both at The Black Cherry & Poole Lighthouse, there is a chance we could even perform at The National itself!! The Cost: £10 per session. Travel to Lighthouse on day of performance. Tickets to watch performances. No cost for additional rehearsals or costumes. There will be concessions and sponsored places available for some families experiencing financial struggles. Commitment: The first session will be an audition workshop session that is free of charge. Participants will be selected from that workshop and invited to enrol for the full course. Participants are expected to attend all sessions/maintain good communication when that is not possible, to ensure rehearsals are productive and fun! The Black Cherry Venue: We are a small venue run by Creatives for Creatives and rely on our cafe revenue to keep us going.
